Government meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss broadband planning, water systems, energy futures and the comprehensive and water system plan during a joint meeting with Clallam County Public Utility District officials at 1 p.m. Monday.

Commissioners also will discuss several budget resolutions in their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday and their weekly business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday. .

• An agreement with Hoch Construction, Inc. for $128,655 for an electric vehicle charging station at the courthouse.

• A call for bids for the courthouse landscaping project.

• An update on the joint public safety facility project from Undersheriff Ron Cameron.

• An agreement with the state’s County Road Administration Board for $111,360 to partially fund improvements to Edgewood Drive between Reddick and Rife roads.

• A memorandum of understanding with the city of Forks reestablishing the Department of Community Development’s authority to process shoreline permits within the city’s limits.

• A discussion with Drew Rosanbalm and Monica Griswold, from the Department of Natural Resources, regarding the TCB 23 and Power Plant timber sales.

• A presentation by Heath Heikklia, from the American Forest Research Council, on the TCB 23 and Power Plant timber sales and the $83 million, 2,000-acre set aside to protect carbon dense forests.

• A resolution regarding salaries for elected officials.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, regarding a draft ordinance for the Clallam Bay/Sekiu sewer system.

Jefferson County

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a workshop on the assessment and design project for the Rocky Brook and Power Lines reaches of the Dosewallips River when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners also will discuss proposals to modify Parks and Recreation fees and the county fee system.

Items on the consent agenda include an agreement with the Clallam County Noxious Weed Control Board for $15,000 to provide at-cost weed control services for select Jefferson County roads that serve as vectors into Clallam County; an agreement with East Jefferson Fire Rescue for $46,000 to provide Community Assistance, Referral And Education Services; an agreement with CardConnect, LLC for $32,670 to provide credit card processing services at the transfer station; and an agreement with Shear, Carr and Jewell, Inc. for $21,046 to provide concept design for a roundabout at Discovery and Jacob Miller roads.
