Government meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will review the draft 2024 budget during their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday.

Commissioners will not conduct a business meeting, usually held on Tuesday, this week because of a Washington State Association of Counties Leadership Conference gathering.

• An agreement with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe for $286,656 annually for law enforcement services by the sheriff’s office.

• An agreement with Salish Behavioral Health Administrative Services Organization for $130,074 to provide for substance use disorder services.

• Resolutions regarding debatable budget emergencies, supplemental budget appropriations, budget revisions and budget reductions.

• A resolution reducing the American Rescue Plan Act direct grant agreement with United Way of Clallam County by $7,128.

• A $41,300 grant from the State Homeland Security program for Sept. 1, 2023 through July 31, 2025.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a public hearing regarding the 2024 ad valorem tax levies when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

Commissioners also will conduct a workshop on proposed fee ordinance and will discuss the proposed 2023 comprehensive plan and unified development code.

The hybrid meeting is at the commissioners chambers in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend.

The Intergovernmental Collaborative Group will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The group is composed of members of four entities: Jefferson County Commission, Port Townsend City Council, the Port of Port Townsend and Jefferson County Public Utility District.

Hood Canal Coordinating Council

The Hood Canal Coordinating Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.

The council’s next scheduled meeting is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20.

The Hood Canal Coordinating Council is a watershed-based council of governments consisting of Jefferson, Kitsap and Mason counties and the Port Gamble S’Klallam and Skokomish tribes. It was established in 1985 to address concerns about water quality issues.

Quillayute Valley Park, Recreation Board

The Quillayute Valley Park and Recreation Board will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The board meets in the Forks Community Center, 90 Maple Ave., Forks.

Water District 1

Jefferson County Water District 1 will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The district meets in the Paradise Bay Community Club, 141 W. Alder St., Port Ludlow.

Water District 1 serves Paradise Bay.
