Meetings across Clallam and Jefferson counties

Quarterly timber reports, a capital improvement plan and a transportation improvement program will be discussed by Peninsula boards and commissions this week.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss the quarterly timber revenue report with the state Department of Natural Resources during their weekly work session.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. July 9 regarding a proposed amendment of the consolidated fee schedule.

• An agreement with the Wild Salmon Center to replace a culvert under Bear Creek Road to improve fish passage.

• A letter and form WS-4 to request planning assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation District regarding plans to upgrade the Highland Irrigation District’s main canal.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. July 2 regarding continued funding for the Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship through a $250,000 community development block grant.

• A recommendation from the Housing Solutions Committee to provide up to $1.5 million in funding to Peninsula Housing Authority toward a 24-unit multifamily housing project at Seventh Avenue and Gales Street.

• A request from the Opportunity Fund Board for a joint meeting with the board of county commissioners for the purpose of discussing policy considerations and board processes.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. July 2 regarding a proposed update of the 911 addressing ordinance.

• Renewal of a five-year lease agreement with the U.S. Coast Guard for property on the Slip Point Lighthouse at Clallam Bay.

• A call for bids to be submitted no later than 10 a.m. July 9 for phase I of the Sekiu sewer main replacement project.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. July 2 regarding a proposed ordinance reducing setback requirements within Carlsborg residential zones CR-II, CR-III and CN.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.
