EYE ON THE PENINSULA: Clallam commissioners to discuss animal advisory committee

Meetings across Clallam County.

Jefferson County commissioners will not meet this week, while Clallam County will discuss animal advisory and various expenses.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider a resolution to re-establish the Animal Issues Advisory Committee and rename it the Animal Solutions Advisory Committee during their weekly work session Monday and their weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners will move to executive session at 11:30 a.m. Monday to discuss litigation or potential litigation as authorized by RCW 42.30.110.

Agenda items include:

• A public hearing regarding debatable budget emergencies as well as resolutions adopting various budget reductions, revisions and supplemental appropriations.

• A discussion of next steps in regard to hearing examiner services.

• Agreements with the state Health Care Authority for up to $4,250,000 to establish Medicaid accounting and billing systems for the county jail and the juvenile detention facility.

• An agreement with the state Administrative Office of the Courts for reimbursement of expenses incurred by the county related to re-sentencing or vacating sentences invalidated by the Blake decision.

• An agreement with the County Road Administration Board for an additional $961,540 for improvements to Edgewood Drive.

• An agreement with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to sublease half of the Sheriff’s Office’s leased hangar in Sequim.

• A discussion regarding proposed amendments to the county’s opportunity fund program.

• A discussion with David Heberlin, Olympic Theatre Arts; Kvle LeMaire and Karen Hanan, ArtsWA; and Manny Cawalin, Inspire Washington regarding what a cultural access program might look like in Clallam County.
