The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam – Jefferson joint meeting

The commissioners of Clallam and Jefferson counties will discuss a regional RECOMPETE application during a special joint meeting at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The Rebuilding Economies and Creating Opportunities for More People Everywhere To Excel (RECOMPETE) Act establishes a grant program to assist economically distressed local communities and labor markets.

The hybrid meeting will be conducted from commissioners’ chambers in both the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend, and the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

• An agreement with Haase Woodworks, Inc. for $76,780 for interior renovation of the auditor’s office.

• An agreement with the Department of Ecology for $162,058 in funding to support the Sheriff’s Office CREW removal of litter and illegally dumped materials from public lands.

• A call for bids to be opened at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, for the downtown Sekiu sewer main replacement.

• A fire season update from George Bailey, Clallam County fire marshal.

• A public hearing regarding the proposed county administrator contract with Todd Mielke.

• An amended contract with OAC Services, Inc., for $1,897,360 for a change order on the joint public safety facility project.

• A request to waive the three bid requirement and purchase 1,110 square feet of flooring for Heath and Human Services’ Forks office from Burton Flooring for $9,491.51.

• An agreement with Gary and Karen Johnson for $8,538 to purchase a permanent easement around culverts under Wisen Creek Road and to replace fencing around the right-of-way.

• An agreement with the North Olympic Regional Veterans Housing Network for an additional $40,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding.

• A request from the Peninsula Housing Authority for an additional $200,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding for its planned purchase of the Ox Bow Apartments in Forks; the purchase price is $1,500,000 and the authority anticipates an additional project cost of $1,049,000 in required ADA improvements and soft costs.

• A request to waive the three bid requirement and purchase 65 linear feet of chain link fencing for the Harm Reduction Center at 325½ Second St. from Rainbow Sweepers for $5,440.

• Final plat approval for a five-space RV park near Kemp and South Brook streets in the Port Angeles urban growth area.
