The RECOMPETE grant program, a potential property purchase for a new electrical substation and budget amendments will be before Peninsula boards and commissions this week.

Clallam Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider reinstating the Agricultural Commission during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• An interlocal agreement with the state Department of Health allowing the appointment of a regional health officer to fulfill the responsibilities of the county public health officer in the event of incapacitation or vacancy.

• A letter of support for the Makah Tribe’s application for funding for the Hoko River floodplain project at Upper Cowan Ranch.

• An agreement with New Horizon Communication for phone services.

• An agreement with the National Park Service regarding law enforcement mutual assistance.

• An renewed agreement with the U.S. Forest Service for work crew supervisors and vehicles for clean up on Forest Service lands.

• Resolutions granting $2 million in affordable sales and use tax to Peninsula Behavioral Health to construct a 36-unit multifamily permanent supported housing facility at Second and Oak streets in Port Angeles and $250,000 to rehabilitate a five-bedroom permanent supported housing group home at Fifth and Fir streets in Sequim.

• A public hearing regarding the proposed 2024 amendment to the 2016-2026 county comprehensive park and recreation master plan.

• A public hearing regarding the allocation of 2024-2027 regional surface transportation block grant funding.

The Hood Canal Coordinating Council is a watershed-based council of governments consisting of Jefferson, Kitsap and Mason Counties and the Port Gamble S’Klallam and Skokomish tribes, it was established in 1985 to address concerns about water quality issues.

The Quillayute Valley Park and Recreation Board will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
