Meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

Boundary lines for voting precincts, short-term rental discussion and Fourth of July fireworks are some of the topics that will be before boards and commissions on the Peninsula next week.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss and consider next steps regarding a proposed cultural access program during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• A request to waive the Bid/RFP/quote requirements and purchase radio gateway modules from ESChat for $38,387.

• Resolutions altering boundary lines for voting precincts Port Angeles 113, Dry Creek 224, Forks 301, Bogachiel 211, Forks 302 and Sun 269 due to annexations by Port Angeles in 2023 and by Forks in 2024.

• A call for bids to be received no later than 10 a.m. April 29 for debris removal from the proposed site of the Dungeness off-channel reservoir.

• A letter for the congressional delegation regarding local impacts of federal decision-making.

• An agreement with Peninsula Daily News for legal advertising.

• An update on the current state legislative session.

• A review of federal grant revenue and expenditures.

• An amended agreement with the state Administrative Office of the Courts for $99,877 for Family and Juvenile Court programs.

• Certification of the 2024 road expenditures for the County Road Administration Board.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. April 8 regarding proposed changes to time limit expectations for final decision in the permitting process.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. April 15 regarding a proposed emergency ordinance amending Chapter 27.12 Critical Areas regarding floodplain management.

• Resolutions appointing members to several volunteer boards and commissions.

• A resolution to reauthorize any prior existing account and establish a bank account for the Department of Community Development.

• Resolutions adopting budget revisions, reductions and supplemental appropriations and a public hearing regarding several debatable budget emergencies.

• An agreement with Cascade Community Connections for $63,444 for an employment program for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

• An agreement with Shea, Carr & Jewell, Inc. for $401,274 to construct the state Highway 19/Rhody Drive pedestrian and bike improvements.

• An agreement with Braun Consulting for $100,000 to provide human resources and labor relations consulting services.

• An agreement with the Jefferson Interfaith Action Coalition for $5,000 to operate a winter welcoming center.

• An amended agreement with the state Department of Health for $226,436 to conduct the Beach Environmental Assessment, Communication and Health program, infectious disease syndemic prevention services and the Women, Infants and Children program.

• An amended agreement for an additional $277,495 (total of $3,149,254) for injury and violence prevention, the office of immunization and the sexual and reproductive health program.
