Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will hear an update on the Marine Discovery Center in their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Mesilla Williams, executive director of the Feiro Marine Life Center, will discuss plans for the Marine Discovery Center, a joint project of Feiro and the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, on the Port Angeles Waterfront Center campus.

Association of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Clallam PUD

The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider applications for the vacant seat on the commission during an executive session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to decide upon finalists.

Finalists will be interviewed during special meetings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Six applications had been received as of Friday.

The person chosen will fill the seat of former commissioner Rick Paschall, who announced his resignation in February, fulfilling the remaining two years of Paschall’s six-year term.
