Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Port Angeles city

The Port Angeles City Council will conduct a public hearing regarding short term rental and bed and breakfast regulations and fees during a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The council also will discuss a collective bargaining agreement in executive session during a special meeting at 5:30 p.m.

The Port Townsend City Council will consider a resolution stating intent to hold a hearing to assume the powers and responsibilities of the Transportation Benefit District when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider agreements with the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, Clallam County Economic Development Council, Jefferson County, Peninsula College and Washington State University regarding the RECOMPETE grant during their weekly work session and weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session at 9 a.m. Tuesday will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m.

• An agreement with the Jefferson County Noxious Weed Control Board regarding the control of wild chervil on Jefferson County to prevent its spread into Clallam County.

• An agreement with the North Olympic Library System for $6,000 to fund its poet laureate for a second year.

• An agreement with the Office of the Secretary of State regarding the sharing of category 3 data through the VoteWA system; category 3 information is protected from public disclosure.

• An agreement with the Department of Health for an additional $194,688 for the Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program.

• Opening of bids for the Carlsborg Road paving contract.

• An invitation to bid for the Public Works crush contract; bids are due not later that 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5.

• A staff recommendation that the commissioners accept the $290,695 bid from LDC, Inc. to update the county’s comprehensive plan.
