Peninsula boards and commissions this week will consider a letter regarding alternate acreage to replace the Power Plant timber sale, appoint a new city council member in Port Townsend and hear an update on COVID-19.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss a letter from the state Department of Natural Resources regarding alternate acreage to replace the Power Plant timber sale during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• A resolution establishing alternate positions on the Animal Solutions Advisory Committee.

• An agreement with Stephanie Marshall of Bennu Law for hearing examiner services.

• A request from Feiro Marine Life Center for a recommendation survey, which will serve as a letter of support, for a state Department of Commerce grant for the Marine Discovery Center.

• A notice announcing that the preliminary 2025 Clallam County budget will be available for public review not later that Sept. 3.

• An amended agreement with the Department of Commerce’s State Broadband Office for a $16,074,985 grant for Joyce-area broadband.

• A deed of right to use land with the state for streamflow restoration and conservation.

• An amended agreement with the Washington Water Trust for the Dungeness off-channel reservoir project.

• An annual update on the Marine Resources Committee.

• An update on the Clallam County Poet Laureate program from Clair Dunlap.

• A discussion regarding the process and timeline for the county administrator’s annual performance reviews.

• An agreement with the state Administrative Office of the Courts for reimbursement of costs incurred by the Blake decision.

• An amended agreement the state County Road Administration Board for the Edgewood Drive project.

• Agreement with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife for hangar space in Sequim.

Association of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Jefferson County Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
