EYE ON THE PENINSULA: PT council to discuss Fort Worden PDA dissolution

The dissolution of the Fort Worden Public Development Authority, a public health and emergency update and the replacement of encumbered timberlands will be before Peninsula boards and commissions this week.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss the next steps regarding replacement of encumbered timberlands during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners also will conduct 2025 budget meetings with the county administrator, chief finance officer, deputy CFO, budget coordinator and various department heads on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

• An agreement with Grow Strong LLC for $18,400 to create a wellness training program for patrol and corrections deputies.

• An agreement with Washington Traffic Safety Commission for reimbursement of up to $15,000 for overtime spent on emphasis patrols in support of statewide programs between Oct. 1, 2024, and Sept. 30, 2025.

• An agreement with Peninsula College for establishing the jail as a training site for the Peninsula College nursing program.

• A land purchase agreement with Ronald Konopaski for $1,744 for an easement at the Middle Point pump station.

• Opening of bids for the chiller replacement project at the county juvenile facility.

• A public hearing regarding a proposed ordinance amending Clallam County Code Chapter 11.04, Speed Limits on County Roads.
