FORKS — A mistaken report of shots fired in the area of Forks Community Hospital resulted in a multi-agency police response and the temporary closure of Bogachiel Way on Sunday night.
“It was a wild night on the West End,” said Ron Cameron, chief criminal deputy of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
At 9:55 p.m., Forks police were called to Forks Community Hospital, 530 Bogachiel Way, with support from State Patrol, Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Border Patrol and LaPush Police Department.
Bogachiel Way was closed, and witnesses said armed officers guarded the road.
The shots-fired call was found to be in error, Cameron said Monday.
Information on the origin and cause of the call was not immediately available.
Forks Police Department was the lead agency in the call, he said.
Calls seeking comment from Forks police were not immediately returned Monday, which was Labor Day.
