The downtown Port Angeles Farmers Market and its impact on downtown businesses will be discussed by the city Planning Commission in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St., at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting is open to the public.
The downtown market’s operators want an extension of a conditional use permit to be on Laurel Street on Saturday. The market has three years left on a five-year permit (which will not under discussion) for its Wednesday afternoon market on Laurel.
Several downtown merchants want the market to relocate, saying the street closure disrupts downtown traffic flow and blocks too many on-street parking spaces.
Other merchants disagree, saying the market helps attract customers to their businesses.
