SEQUIM — A fire in the bedroom of a home on Lewis Road west of Sequim on Saturday heavily damaged the room, and smoke damage made the home uninhabitable, firefighters said.
Clallam County Fire District No. 3 responded to the fire at the home, 501 Lewis Road, at about 4 p.m. Saturday. No one was home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters contained it to the bedroom.
No one was injured.
The homeowner, Christine Williamson, was assisted by the American Red Cross as well as friends in the area, with whom she is staying.
Three fire engines, two medical units, one water tender and one rescue truck responded, as two Clallam County sheriff’s deputies and an Olympic Ambulance crew.
The cause of the fire had not been determined.
