PORT ANGELES — A tipped over propane heater is being cited as the cause of a fire that destroyed a 24-foot 1974 Travco motor home at 12:34 p.m. Friday.
Clallam County Fire District No. 2 personnel and Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the fire at 52 Forsell Drive south of U.S. Highway 101 and west of Monroe Road.
According to Fire District No. 2 Chief Jon Bugher, the motor home was in storage and was fully involved when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to neighboring vehicles, a Fire District report said.
There was no damage estimate and no reports of injuries.
Bugher said people should secure any portable heating device to prevent fires from accidental tipping.
