MARROWSTONE ISLAND — A structure fire that broke out on Griffiths Point Road destroyed an outbuilding Wednesday afternoon.
According to Bill Beezley, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue spokesman, Fire-Rescue and Port Ludlow fire crews responded to a call at 4:30 p.m. to find a roughly 25-foot-by-15-foot outbuilding — similar to a large garage of workshop — engulfed in flames.
The blaze was fully contained in about 30 minutes.
Beezley confirmed everyone had been evacuated from the building and no one was hurt.
Smoke from the blaze could be seen from Port Townsend but dissipated before 5 p.m.
A few minutes later, firefighters said the flames had been contained.
The cause of the fire was unknown as of Wednesday evening.
