Fire reported at Port Townsend Paper Corp. mill

PORT TOWNSEND — A structure fire was reported at about 2:30 p.m. today at the Port Townsend Paper Corp mill, in the cardboard recycling facility.

Multiple points of flames were visible from the outside of the building, which were producing orange smoke.

East Jefferson Fire-Rescue responded with several units.

The fire reportedly was confined outside to bundled cardboard for recycling. Firefighters were still working on the fire at 4:15 p.m.
