PORT TOWNSEND — East Jefferson Fire Rescue firefighters extinguished a structure fire near the intersection of Lupine and South Jacob Miller roads. There were no injuries.
East Jefferson Fire Rescue (EJFR) received a call about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and was on scene by 8:37 a.m., the fire district stated in a press release. The fire was extinguished by 8:53 a.m., the fire district said.
No was inside the structure at the time of the incident.
The cause appeared to be accidental, but it was under investigation Wednesday, the fire district said.
Twelve on-duty firefighters, a battalion chief, medical services officer, training captain and an off-duty firefighter responded. In addition, five volunteer responders and another off-duty firefighter supplemented the response, the fire district said.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the county fire marshal also responded, the fire district said.
