SEQUIM — A quick-moving and smoky grass fire concerned those living in neighboring apartment complexes earlier this week, but it was quickly extinguished, a fire department spokesman said.
The fire at 1 p.m. Wednesday brought out concerned neighbors of two apartment complexes in the 600 block of West Maple Street, said Patrick Young, spokesman for Clallam County Fire District No. 3.
The fire was quickly contained to the empty grass lot between the Sequim Police Department and the Suncrest Village Apartments, he said.
The thick white smoke was pushed by winds of 5 to 10 mph winds into the Mountain View Apartments.
No one was hurt, Young said.
The fire was reportedly started by a tractor mowing tall grass in the lot, he added.
