SEQUIM — Firefighters and neighbors rescued a woman and three dogs following a house fire in the 700 block of South Still Road.
A school bus driver in the area called 9-1-1 about 7:19 a.m. Friday to alert dispatchers of a large amount of smoke coming from within a home, Clallam County Fire District 3 reported in a press release.
Crews from three stations arrived to fight the fire, the fire district said.
Neighbors helped remove three small dogs from a room attached to the double-wide trailer as responders were arriving, the fire district said.
Firefighters located the homeowner in the crawl space under the house, and paramedics transported her with non-life-threatening injuries to Olympic Medical Center for further evaluation.
The case of the fire remained under investigation.
Additional resources included an Olympic Ambulance, a battalion chief, community paramedic and automatic aid from Clallam 2 Fire and Rescue, the fire district said.
