PORT ANGELES – The air-supported building for indoor tennis and soccer matches – the subject of a special parks board meeting tonight – looks like what it’s called: a bubble.
And Port Angeles could be in line to get one, complete with lights, blower, heating and air condition equipment, for the price of shipping from Washington, D.C.
The Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission will review the proposal at a meeting at 5 p.m. in the public works conference room at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
(A front-page story Wednesday misstated the starting time of the meeting.)
Then the proposal will be presented to the City Council at its meeting starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
An anonymous donor and tennis enthusiast bought a three-year-old inflatable building from George Washington University and is trying to donate it in the Pacific Northwest to promote tennis play.
