PORT ANGELES — First Step Family Support Center was recently awarded $25,000 from the Norcliffe Foundation in support of its facility expansion.
The expansion will feature an infant and toddler child care/early learning center, parent meeting and training rooms, a reading resource room, a kitchen and confidential counseling offices.
“The retirement of a loan on the current First Step facility and the subsequent purchase of the adjacent lot have presented a tremendous opportunity for the agency to increase our capacity to provide for the healthy development of families and children in our community,” said Nita Lynn, executive director of First Step.
With a larger facility, First Step will be able to expand current programs and offer new ones to children and families.
