NEAH BAY — The Coast Guard, state Ecology Department and the Makah tribe are responding to a grounded fishing vessel near Neah Bay.
Ecology spokeswoman Kim Schmanke says there are no reports of any oil spill or damage to the 88-foot boat, Kristina Rose, which ran aground this evening. However, the Coast Guard has airlifted two crew members from the boat as a precaution.
The boat could possibly be carrying about 1,100 gallons of diesel and an additional 500 gallons of hydraulic oil.
Schmanke says the plan is to try to refloat the vessel with the high tide early Tuesday.
