Although there were no special commemorations, Flag Day flew briskly for Old Glory on poles across the North Olympic Peninsula, aided by 15-knot west winds up the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Monday was Flag Day, which is held to commemorate the adoption of the American flag in 1777.
