Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

State Parks

The state Parks and Recreation Commission will host an in-person open house at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be in the Blyn-Bay meeting space in the 7 Cedars Hotel, 270756 U.S. Highway 101, Sequim.

The commission will provide an overview on current plans for Miller Peninsula State Park followed by an opportunity for questions or comments from the public.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider two agreements with Scarsella Brothers, Inc. for emergency work on the lower Dungeness floodplain restoration project during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session at 9 a.m. Monday will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• An application for a grant from the Recreation and Conservation Office for the Lake Pleasant boat launch.

A request from the Department of Transportation for a temporary easement to discharge groundwater from the Elwha bridge and plant construction site at the Lake Aldwell boat launch.

A resolution to request the release of American Rescue Plan Act funds to the county from the section 605 Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund.

An overview of the county’s expenditures of American Rescue Plan Act funds for the third quarter of 2022.

The commissioners will meet in executive session to discuss litigation in State v. Winborn.

Jefferson County

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider a 13th temporary policy related to the emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 and monkey pox from Dr. Allison Berry, health officer for Jefferson and Clallam counties, at 9:45 a.m., conduct a workshop regarding the solid waste transfer station’s operating hours and discuss a proposed revision to the social media policy.

Association of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.
