For the fourth year, volunteers will be standing outside several grocers for the Price Ford Peanut Butter Drive.
The dealership partners with the Port Angeles and Sequim food banks to bring in jars of peanut butter for local youths throughout the summer.
Andra Smith, executive director of the Sequim Food Bank, said the Sequim facility provides an average of 250 jars of peanut butter a week all year long and it’s a good source of protein for youths.
At last year’s event, Sequim donors gave 2,300 jars of peanut butter and organizers set a goal of 2,700 jars from Sequim donations, said Stephen Rosales, Sequim Food Bank board president.
Jessica Hernandez, executive director of the Port Angeles Food Bank, said the food bank’s goal is 3,000 jars.
