FORKS — A public forum to provide information about restoration and dam removal projects on the Elwha River has been set for March 10.
Olympic National Park’s Elwha Restoration Project manager Brian Winter will share history information and explain how park officials plan to remove the Elwha and Glines Canyon dams to restore the Elwha River’s ecosystem.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the University of Washington Olympic Natural Resources Center, 1455 S. Forks Ave. in Forks.
Plans to remove the two dams on the Elwha River and eventually restore salmon runs continue, with dam removal slated to begin in 2007.
