FORKS — A replacement levy to fund emergency medical services for West End residents will go before voters on the Nov. 4 general election ballot.
The Clallam County Hospital District No. 1 measure would give voters the option of choosing a six-year levy, a 10-year levy or a permanent levy, said Shoona Radon, Clallam County elections supervisor.
The measure would replace the current six-year levy, which ends this year.
The measure would authorize up to 50 cents per $1,000 assessed valuation, but Forks Community Hospital Administrator Camille Scott said that the district commissioners don’t plan to raise it beyond the current 20 cents per $1,000 assessed valuation.
The resolution does not state the amount of revenue the levy would raise, but the current levy at the 20 cents per $1,000 raised about $67,000 annually.
