FORKS — Hundreds of West End residents turned out Friday and Saturday to participate in 13th annual RainFest activities including a quilt show, arts and crafts events and a parade.
And once again, it didn’t rain on RainFest in a town noted for its rain, among other features.
Activities kicked off Friday with the third annual Piecemaker’s Quilt Show in Forks and the Vision of Spirit Seekers event in LaPush.
The spotlight shifted Saturday to umbrella decorating events and the increasingly popular Tournament of Umbrellas Parade along Spartan Avenue.
There were also performances by dance, choir, orchestra and other groups throughout the day.
Activities on tap today include:
* 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Third annual Piecemaker’s Quilt Show, Forks High School gymnasium.
* Noon to 6 p.m.: Quileute Drum Making class at Peninsula College’s Forks Extension site. The class costs $70.
* 1 p.m.: Forks Community Orchestra, Rainfest Arts Center, 35 N. Forks Ave.
