FORKS — A Forks High School alumnus is tops in his graduating class of 929 cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Second Lt. Tony Romeo graduated No. 1 in the military order of merit receiving awards for top academic, military and physical performance during commencement in Colorado Springs, Colo., about five weeks ago.
“I worked very hard the last four years and was very happy to be honored,” he said.
Romeo, 22, received a bachelor of science degree after majoring in political science and a minor in French.
His training included four years of academic classes and military training courses, including six weeks of basic training, a combat survival course in the Rocky Mountains, parachuting and pilot preparatory courses.
