FORKS — Final plans for a long-awaited community swimming pool on the West End will be on display during a public meeting this week in Forks.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Forks High School commons, community members can review the final architectural plans for the $2.9 million Quillayute Valley Aquatic Center.
Members of the Quillayute Valley Park and Recreation District board, advisory committee, and the design architects from SERA Architecture in Portland, Ore., will be at the meeting to discuss the current design and costs.
Groundbreaking for the two-pool facility is scheduled for next spring with the aquatic center estimated to open by late spring 2005.
