FORKS — Mayor Nedra Reed hopes an upcoming repair project at Quillayute Airport will be the first of several making the aviation center an attractive place for business.
“This is a pretty simple project,” Reed said Thursday. “It is the first step in equipping an operational airport.”
The bid opening for the Quillayute Airport runway rehabilitation project is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Forks City Council Chambers, 500 E. Division St.
Reed said the project consists of sealing cracks — the old sealant will be removed and new material applied to preserve the pavement on runways.
Quillayute Airport, on Quillayute Road, has two runways each approximately 5,000 feet long.
