Forks resident George Rodney Dhooghe, 64, injured in a Tuesday crash west of Port Angeles that killed a young man, was treated for injuries at Olympic Medical Center and released, hospital spokeswoman Rhonda LoPresti said Wednesday.
Dhooghe was driving west in a Ford Ranger pickup truck on U.S. Highway 101 early Tuesday evening near Fairmount Avenue when a Nissan Sentra driven by Matthew Aaron Schreck, 21, pulled out of a gas station to turn left and apparently did not see the truck, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Schreck’s car was hit in the driver’s side, killing him. No passengers were in either vehicle.
