FORKS — Quillayute Valley School District Science Coordinator Sherry Schaaf was awarded a $9,400 grant for innovative teaching.
The grant, called the Toyota TAPESTRY Science Grant, was awarded by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. and the National Science Teacher’s Association.
The award was based on Schaaf’s excellence and innovation in science and inquiring into literacy.
She is one of 50 teachers in the United States to receive the grant, awarded March 27 at the National Science Teacher’s Association National Convention in Philadelphia.
