FORKS — A tip from LaPush authorities about a possible mini-mart robbery led Forks police on two chases and an arrest during the weekend.
Clallam County sheriff’s deputies arrested Mark A. Williams, 24, of Tacoma on assault, resisting arrest and firearms charges after allegedly bragging in LaPush about “shooting someone for money” and robbing the Forks Texaco mini-mart, Forks Police Chief Mike Powell said Monday.
Forks officers, acting on the tip, stopped three men when they arrived in a gray Oldsmobile Cutlass at the Texaco station at Forks Avenue and Division Street just before 11 p.m. Saturday.
The three Forks officers and two Clallam deputies had staked out the gas station waiting for Williams.
