Former Port Angeles mayor, Clallam Transit manager dies

PORT ANGELES — Former Port Angeles Mayor Dan Di Guilio died Tuesday night at Sebastian Riverside Medical Center in Sebastian, Fla.

City employees were notified of his death this morning in an email from City Manager Dan McKeen, who said Di Guilio died suddenly in his home.

Former Public Works Director Glenn Cutler, a family friend who visited Di Guilio in October, said the former Clallam Transit general manager died of a heart attack.

“He was a great guy,” Cutler said.

“When he spoke, you listened.

“I always found him to be a fair individual, balanced, very thoughtful.

“He cared tremendously about this community that he spent so many years in.”

McKeen said Di Guilio “was a large part of the Clallam Transit family” and participated on boards, committees and commissions.

“Most of all, he was a special part of our community,” McKeen said.

“Our thoughts are with his wife Carol and his family at this time.

“We are sending our thoughts and prayers their way as they deal with this sudden loss.

“Dan was a wonderful mayor, co-worker, and friend.

“He will be missed by many.”

Information on funeral arrangements was unavailable this morning.

Di Guilio’s age was unavailable.
