PORT ANGELES — Former Port Angeles Mayor Richard Headrick died in his sleep Wednesday afternoon.
He was 74.
His brother, Jack Headrick of Sequim, said he had no known illnesses and the death came as a surprise, although he suspects he died of natural causes.
Richard Headrick, a Port Angeles resident, was a retired District Court judge before he served on the City Council from 2002-2005 and again from 2006-2007 when he was appointed to replace Council Member Jack Pittis.
He served as mayor from 2004-2005.
