SHINE — Four people, three of them children, were taken to hospitals after a two-car collision at Paradise Road and state Highway 104 at 4:22 p.m. Friday, which blocked 104 for two hours.
Donald L. Marvin, 77; and two of his passengers, unnamed juveniles 12 and 14 years old, were taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. Another passenger, a 12-year-old unnamed juvenile, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, the State Patrol said in a memo issued at 7 p.m. Friday.
Their conditions were not known Friday night.
The State Patrol did not know their hometowns.
Marvin was cited for failure to yield, troopers said. He was on Paradise Road ready to turn east onto state Highway 104 as a car driven by Justin S. Rivet, 38, of Port Angeles was traveling westbound on Highway 104. Marvin turned left onto 104 in front of Rivet, and Rivet’s car hit Marvin’s, troopers said.
Both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane of Highway 104.
Rivet was not hurt, troopers said.
Both vehicles were completely destroyed, the State Patrol said.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were involved, the State Patrol said, adding that everyone wore seat belts.
