PORT TOWNSEND — Free, live music on the water starts here this week, as the summertime Concerts on the Dock series of gets under way Thursday.
First up is funk, rock and soul by The Better Half, at 5:30 p.m. in the newly renovated Pope Marine Park plaza at Water and Madison streets.
Everybody is invited to bring a chair, a blanket or both; food and drink will be available.
The Concerts on the Dock continue at 5:30 every Thursday through August, with the following lineup:
■ July 14: The Low Ones with folk rock.
■ July 21: Mongo Smash’s hard rock.
■ July 28: Still more rock ’n’ roll with the Pitfalls.
■ Aug. 4: classic and modern rock with Blackey Sheridan.
■ Aug. 11: ska and swing with Locust Street Taxi.
■ Aug. 18: old-time music and bluegrass with Deadwood Revival.
■ Aug. 25: funk and jazz fusion with Impulse.
