The Clallam Conservation District and Olympic Peninsula Equestrian Network (OPEN) farrier Joe Marceau will hold a free workshop for horse owners Thursday.

The workshop will be held from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at OPEN’s equine rescue facility in Sequim. The address will be provided following registration.
During the workshop, conservation staff will provide pasture management tips including rotational grazing, mowing and proper winter care of pastures, as well as strategies for keeping grazing horses healthy that are at risk for laminitis.
The workshop will include a tour of OPEN’s mud-free, gravel paddocks.
Marceau will talk about maintaining hoof health for horses at risk for laminitis.
The conservation district provides horse and livestock owners free technical assistance for mud, manure and pasture management challenges.
