PORT ANGELES — Writers of all ages and levels — including beginners — have a chance to work with Seattle poet and musician Jeanine Walker in a free poetry workshop today (Tuesday).

The Port Angeles Library is the place for the 3:30 p.m. program, and while there is no charge, registration is encouraged. To sign up, visit the North Olympic Library System website at www.NOLS.org. Select “Events” and “Port Angeles.”

Participants will be treated to a reading of poems by Walker and use one or two of the poems as models for writing a first draft of their own, plus have the opportunity to share their work and receive feedback.

A poet whose work has appeared in journals including the Cimarron Review, Cream City Review, PageBoy and Web Conjunctions, Walker directs the Seattle Arts & Lectures’ Writers in the Schools program, and holds a Ph.D. in literature and creative writing from the University of Houston.

For more information about Walker’s workshop, which is supported by the Port Angeles Friends of the Library, phone 360-417-8500 or email Jennifer Lu’Becke at jlubecke@nols.org. The library is located at 2210 S. Peabody St.
