PORT ANGELES — Almost one year after its discovery, Olympic National Park Coastal Ecologist Steve Fradkin will share his stories about discovering and removing a 185-ton Japanese dock that washed out to sea during the 2011 tsunami.
Fradkin’s presentation is set for the Olympic National Park Visitor Center, 3002 Mount Angeles Road, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
On Dec. 18, 2012, Coast Guard searchers found the dock in a rugged and remote section of the park’s wilderness coast and the Olympic National Marine Sanctuary.
The dock posed a threat to visitor safety and had the potential to damage resources, officials said.
Fradkin, a member of the multi-agency response team, will share still shots and video of the removal effort.
