Free WOW! forum to detail eye/vision ailments, treaments

SEQUIM — Dr. Eric Van Orman will present “Common Ocular Conditions & Current Treatments” at the next WOW! Working on Wellness Radio Forum, set for 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. today.

The presentation will be on KSQM 91.5 FM.

Van Orman will discuss common ocular conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease along with the latest treatments for these conditions.

He said he enjoys practicing optometry with modern, state-of-the-art technology like digital retinal imaging and optic nerve fiber layer analysis to ensure the early detection and treatment of eye diseases.

Van Orman has been practicing optometry in Port Angeles since 1998, providing comprehensive eye examinations for glasses and contact lenses. He also offers his patients the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and co-management with local ophthalmic surgeons.

He is board certified by the American Board of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Physicians of Washington.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic — Sequim’s free clinic, which provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members. Work is supported by more than 70 volunteers including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond.

The 2020 Platinum Sponsors include Castell Insurance, Jamestown Family Health Clinic, Sequim Tax Service and KSQM FM Radio Station.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5 p.m.
