Friday: Clallam PUD responding to multiple power outages

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam Public Utility District was working Friday to restore power to multiple areas impacted by high winds.

Customers north of Port Angeles off of Benson Road, customers east of Port Angeles off O’ Brien Road, as well as some customers in the Joyce Piedmont and East Beach areas were without power.

Total customers without power was about 760, according to the PUD.

No estimated time of restoration was available.

A Friday morning power outage affecting nearly 60 PUD customers near Black Diamond Road and Westridge Road south of Port Angeles was caused by a tree coming into contact with power lines, PUD officials said.

According to PUD spokesman Mike Howe, the Black Diamond outage began at about 8:07 a.m. and affected a total of 57 customers.

Total restoration of power in the Black Diamond area was expected Friday afternoon, Howe said.
