HERE IS THE front page from the Port Angeles Evening News showing the Nov. 22, 1963, coverage of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination . . . and Friday-Saturday’s Peninsula Daily News front page, 50 years later.
The Port Angeles Evening News, predecessor paper to today’s PDN, hurriedly remade its front page on the day of the assassination with a “JFK Killed” banner headline. There are no photos from the shooting in this edition.
The Evening News was printed in the afternoon, so this paper was published the same day Kennedy was killed.
