PORT ANGELES — Hard Hats & High Heels, the groundbreaking fundraiser for the Captain Joseph House Foundation, is set for Saturday.
A few tickets may still be available by today. To find out, phone Betsy Reed Schultz, organizer of the event and founder of the Captain Joseph House, by 9 a.m. Saturday.
A “Take a Demolition Swing” wine and cheese pre-dinner event is set for 4:30 p.m. at the Captain Joseph House, 1108 S. Oak St.
For $25, attendees can “take a swing” to help knock down interior walls at the site, which will be renovated.
Place of healing
Schultz envisions the house as a place of healing and relaxation for families of fallen military men and women.
It is named for Schultz’s son, Army Capt. Joseph Schultz, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on May 29, 2011.
Following the “Take a Demolition Swing” will be a black-tie-optional dinner, live auction and raffle in O’Donnell Hall at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 209 W. 11th St.
A cocktail period with music from The Cat’s Meow jazz band will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Dinner, catered by Michael’s Seafood & Steakhouse, will begin at 6:15 p.m. Entree choices are sea halibut and sirloin or vegetable lasagna smontare.
Individual tickets are $85, military tickets are $75, 10-seat corporate tables are $1,100, and eight-seat tables are $930.
