PORT ANGELES – Chain-link construction fences will go up Monday around the future site of the $13.8 million Port Angeles International Gateway Transportation Center.
Traffic will be kept open on Lincoln and Front Streets as construction begins, but street parking will be prohibited adjacent to the fence.
Sidewalks will be demolished.
Parking will remain available west of the construction site .
Details of how much will be for short-term customer parking and how much for long-term parking are being negotiated.
The fences will be moved farther west about mid-August as construction progresses.
Construction is expected to last through 2008.
