SEATTLE — The 5-year-old girl shot with a 9mm handgun in Port Angeles was treated at Harborview Medical Center and released, according to the Port Angeles Police Department.
Officers responded about 10:20 a.m. Sunday to an apartment complex west of 15th and C streets to what was described to 9-1-1 dispatchers as “an accidental firearm discharge,” Port Angeles Police Sgt. Clay Rife confirmed.
The bullet went in the base of the neck and out the shoulder, Port Angeles Deputy Police Chief Jason Viada wrote in an email Monday.
Stephen J. Miller, 27, of Woodland was booked into the Clallam County Jail on Sunday afternoon for investigation of reckless endangerment — domestic violence. He remained in jail on Monday.
