Chimacum School Board member Quentin Goodrich has been sworn in as president of the Washington State School Directors Association, an organization which represents locally elected school board members across the state.
As statewide president for 2006, Goodrich serves as an advocate for school boards and their efforts to promote student achievement, the association said. He will communicate its positions to state legislators, members of Congress, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the U.S. Department of Education.
Goodrich has been a member of the Chimacum School Board for 18 years.
The swearing-in ceremony took place Saturday during the association’s annual conference in Seattle.
