Government meetings set on Peninsula

Here are summaries of agendas of governmental entities on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Jefferson County

The three Jefferson County commissioners will hear the county income report for the first quarter of 2022 from the Department of Natural Resources when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners also will hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Allison Berry at 9:45 a.m. and conduct several workshops during the afternoon session.

Items on the consent agenda include a notice of public hearing regarding the Greater Jolie Way and Silver Berry Place no shooting area at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 25; a notice of a public hearing regarding the Quimper Trust and the Ruck Salmon Creek conservation fund projects at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1; notices of public hearings regarding the Quimper Trust, the Ruck Salmon Creek, the Hannan Farm and the Big Quilcene-Moon Valley conservation fund projects at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1; agreements with the state Military Department for $408,513 to upgrade JeffCom’s E911 equipment; and an amended agreement with Teamsters Local 589 to increase the county match of deferred income $58 per month to $78 per month for commissioned deputies in the Sheriff’s Office.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider supplemental budget appropriations totalling $108,648 and debatable emergencies totalling $1,184,696 in their weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• An agreement with the Recreation and Conservation Office for a grant of $406,415 for the McDonald Creek fish passage restoration project.

• Agreements with the state Military Department for $189,772 to upgrade PenCom’s E911 equipment.

• An agreement with the Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau for $15,000 in lodging tax funds for the 2022 Washington state TREAD app project for the Olympic Peninsula.

• An agreement with the Peninsula Trails Coalition for $20,000 of lodging tax funds for the Olympic Discovery Trail ambassador program.

• A collective bargaining agreement with the Prosecutor’s Association for July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024.

• A resolution to extend Joseph Donisi as acting County Engineer for six additional months, from July 12, 2022 through Jan. 12, 2023.

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Port of Port Townsend

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will conduct a workshop meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
